Terms of Use

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and HeungBok Lee, doing business as HungBok (“HungBok,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), concerning the Kirocal mobile applications for iOS and Android and related services (collectively, the “App”). By downloading, installing, accessing, purchasing through, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms apply to free and advertising-supported features, Premium subscriptions, receipt management, AI Receipt Analysis, platform cloud or backup features, analytics, advertising, convenience templates, import, export, and support features. Platform, store, region, and version differences may apply.

2. Eligibility, Age, and Store Accounts

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. Kirocal is not designed, directed, or marketed to children and is not intended for anyone under 13 or the higher minimum digital-consent age where they live. If you are under the age of legal majority but old enough to use the App, use it only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required.

You are responsible for your device, network, permissions, and Apple Account or Google Account. Kirocal does not require a separate Kirocal account for core features. Purchases, subscription management, iCloud, Google Play, or other platform functions may require the corresponding store or platform account.

3. License and Platform Store Terms

Subject to these Terms and the applicable store’s usage rules, HungBok grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on compatible devices that you own or control, including family or managed distribution where the store permits it, solely for personal and lawful use. The App is licensed, not sold.

Apple App Store

For an Apple-distributed version, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”) and applicable Apple Media Services Terms also govern. The Premium subscription purchase page links to the Apple Standard EULA, while these Terms remain available from the App’s main Settings page and supplement the Apple Standard EULA. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA or other mandatory Apple terms, the Apple terms control to the extent of that conflict.

Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, support, warranties, product claims, consumer-protection claims, or intellectual-property claims. To the extent required by the Apple Standard EULA, HungBok, not Apple, is responsible for addressing such matters, subject to these Terms and applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the App license and may enforce it after your acceptance.

Google Play

For an Android version obtained through Google Play, your use of Google Play is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and applicable Google terms and policies. Google is not responsible for Kirocal’s content, maintenance, support, or developer-provided warranties. If these Terms conflict with mandatory Google Play terms, the Google Play terms control to the extent of that conflict.

4. Kirocal Features

Kirocal is designed to help you record and organize personal financial information, including income, expenses, transfers, assets, payment methods, categories, recurring transactions, subscriptions, receipts, notes, and related settings.

The App may also provide calculations, summaries, budget displays, exchange-rate information, receipt image handling, scanning or import tools, data export/import, local or platform cloud backups, optional CloudKit sync on supported Apple devices, locally scheduled notifications, optional AI Receipt Analysis, analytics, advertising, and service-name or icon templates that help create calendar or financial records. Feature availability can vary by platform, version, device, region, storefront, operating system, subscription status, consent choice, platform configuration, or third-party availability.

Any figures, conversions, predictions, summaries, or categorizations shown by the App are informational tools only. You remain responsible for reviewing records, verifying amounts, and making your own financial decisions.

5. Your Data and Responsibilities

You are responsible for the information, images, files, records, and other material that you add to, import into, or create through the App (“Your Data”). You retain your rights in Your Data. You grant HungBok only the limited permission reasonably necessary to process Your Data at your direction to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support the App and the features you choose. You confirm that you have all rights and lawful authority needed to use and transmit Your Data.

You must not use Kirocal to store or process material that is unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, defamatory, or harmful. Do not enter full payment-card details, passwords, government identification data, or other highly sensitive information unless you understand and accept the security and privacy implications of doing so.

You are responsible for device security, backup protection, and checking records before relying on them. The App is not a bank, card vault, payment processor, tax filing service, or regulated financial adviser. Do not treat it as the authoritative copy of a receipt or legally required record.

6. AI Receipt Analysis

AI Receipt Analysis is optional and disabled by default. Before the first transfer to a selected AI provider, Kirocal identifies the provider, describes the receipt data to be sent and the purpose of the transfer, and requests your affirmative permission. No receipt is sent if you decline. After permission is granted and the feature is enabled, analysis may run when you request it or as described in the in-App disclosure for the receipt workflow. Kirocal requests permission again if you select a different provider or the relevant data use materially changes. The provider may return suggested merchant, date, amount, payment, line-item, or other fields.

The built-in option uses Google Gemini. You may select Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, or xAI and provide your own API key. Use is subject to the selected provider’s terms, privacy practices, account settings, content restrictions, and service availability. If you provide a key, you are responsible for its security, provider charges, and compliance with your provider agreement. See the Privacy Policy’s AI disclosure before use.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, fabricated, or unsuitable. You must review every suggestion before saving, paying, reporting, filing, or otherwise relying on it. HungBok does not guarantee AI output and is not responsible for a provider’s decision to reject, retain, or process submitted content, except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.

You must not use AI Receipt Analysis to create deceptive, forged, fraudulent, or misleading records. The feature is not a substitute for official receipts, tax records, accounting records, or professional advice.

7. Premium Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Kirocal may offer optional automatically renewing monthly and yearly Premium subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Premium provides ongoing access to the features and limits identified on the in-App comparison and purchase screens, which may include additional records, assets, payment methods, backup capacity or limits, customization, AI usage, or an advertising benefit if the purchase screen expressly says so. iCloud Sync on supported Apple versions is available without a Premium subscription and is not a Premium benefit. Before purchase, the App must display the subscription title, included benefits, whether a subscription is required, billing period, localized price with its applicable monthly or yearly unit, billing frequency, automatic-renewal terms, and any trial or introductory terms. The store confirmation sheet is the final purchase authorization.

• Payment is charged to the Apple Account or Google Account used for the purchase when the applicable store confirms it.
• For Apple purchases, the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and Apple may charge within that 24-hour window.
• For Google Play purchases, cancel before the renewal time shown in Google Play. Google Play’s billing and renewal timing are governed by the offer terms and purchase confirmation.
• You can manage or cancel through Apple subscription settings or Google Play’s subscription center, depending on where you purchased. Deleting Kirocal does not cancel a subscription.
• Eligible prior purchases may be restored using the App’s Restore Purchases feature.
• Apple or Google processes billing, taxes, refunds, and store purchase records. Refund requests and billing disputes are handled under the applicable store’s policies and law.

We may add, improve, or retire individual Premium features while continuing to provide ongoing subscription value. We will not intentionally remove the entire paid benefit during an active paid period. Price changes, required consent, billing retry, grace periods, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and trial conversion are administered through the applicable store. Cancellation normally stops future renewal but does not automatically refund the current period; access generally continues until that period ends, subject to store rules and law.

8. Advertising, Analytics, and Privacy Choices

Free or other identified versions may display advertising supplied through Google AdMob and disclosed advertising partners. Ads must be distinguishable from Kirocal content and may be contextual, personalized, or limited depending on your region, age status, platform settings, and consent choices. An ad may open a third-party destination. HungBok does not endorse every advertised product and is not a party to transactions with advertisers.

Kirocal may use Google Analytics for Firebase and website analytics to understand use and improve the App. Analytics and advertising data practices, identifiers, retention, consent, iOS App Tracking Transparency, Android Advertising ID controls, and regional opt-outs are described in the Privacy Policy. Core finance records, receipt contents, card details, API keys, and free-form notes are not used to personalize advertising.

You must not manipulate, automate, incentivize except through an expressly offered rewarded-ad format, or fraudulently generate ad requests, impressions, installations, or clicks. Do not obscure ads, click them without genuine interest, interfere with measurement, or use automation to create invalid traffic.

9. Cloud Sync, Backup, Export, Import, and Restore

If enabled on a supported Apple version, iCloud Sync is available without a Premium subscription and uses your private CloudKit container to synchronize supported records across devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Other platform versions may provide local or platform-supported backup options identified in the App. Backups may be stored locally in App-managed storage or in a cloud destination you select. Exports go to a location or recipient you select. The platform provider’s availability, limits, account state, conflicts, and retention practices apply.

These are convenience features, not guaranteed archival or disaster-recovery services. Imports and restores may overwrite current data; sync can propagate changes or deletions. Verify that backups and exports are complete, readable, current, and securely stored before changing devices, resetting, restoring, or deleting data.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HungBok is not responsible for loss caused by an unsupported or corrupt file, failed or incomplete sync, unavailable iCloud service, insufficient storage, device failure, user action, or third-party action. This does not limit non-waivable consumer rights.

10. Support Communications and Diagnostic Attachments

When you choose Contact Support, Kirocal may prepare an email containing App, device, locale, feature-status, and record-count diagnostics. If the App detects a local data-store failure, the email composer may also attach the App’s database and related files; those files can contain Your Data, including finance and receipt information.

The email is not sent until you choose to send it. Review and edit the message and remove any attachment you do not want to share. By sending it, you authorize HungBok to receive, reproduce, inspect, and use the included information only as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the App, subject to the Privacy Policy.

11. Prohibited Use

You may not, and may not help another person to:

• copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or reverse engineer the App except where applicable law does not allow that restriction;
• use the App to violate law, infringe rights, commit fraud, evade taxes, or create false financial or receipt records;
• interfere with the App, analytics or advertising integrity, its security, its purchase flow, or its connections to third-party services;
• circumvent, disable, or attempt to bypass subscription controls, feature limits, or technical restrictions; or
• impersonate, falsely suggest affiliation with, or misuse the name, icon, logo, trademark, trade dress, or other rights of HungBok or any third party; or
• use the App in a way that could harm HungBok, Apple, Google, an advertiser, an AI provider, another user, or any third party.

12. Third-Party Services

The App may interact with Apple services, Google Play and Google services, iCloud and CloudKit, StoreKit, Google Play Billing, Firebase Analytics, Google AdMob and advertising partners, exchange-rate providers, system camera/photo/file services, email services, and optional AI providers. These services are provided by their owners, not by HungBok. Their terms, privacy notices, advertising rules, usage policies, geographic restrictions, and technical limits apply.

Your use of third-party services may require separate accounts, permissions, fees, or acceptance of separate terms. You should review those terms and privacy notices before using a third-party service.

13. Kirocal Intellectual Property

The App, its software, visual design, interface, text, graphics, trademarks, and other content supplied by HungBok are owned by or licensed to HungBok and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

“Kirocal” and related visual assets are identifiers of the App. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship without prior written permission.

14. Third-Party Names, Logos, Icons, Trademarks, and Designs

Kirocal may display the names, logos, icons, service marks, trade names, product names, trade dress, artwork, or other brand features of streaming services, software providers, financial services, utilities, merchants, subscription services, and other third parties (“Third-Party Marks”). This may occur in convenience templates, calendar entries, transaction records, search results, examples, or integrations so users can identify the service they intend to record.

All Third-Party Marks and associated goodwill belong to their respective owners. Unless Kirocal expressly states otherwise, their appearance is for identification and informational convenience only and does not imply that the owner sponsors, endorses, operates, is affiliated with, or has approved Kirocal. HungBok does not claim ownership of Third-Party Marks and receives no trademark license merely by referring to a third-party service.

HungBok intends to use Third-Party Marks only where licensed, authorized, supplied under applicable brand guidelines, or otherwise permitted by law, such as an appropriate nominative or descriptive use. A disclaimer in these Terms does not itself create permission to use a mark, logo, copyrighted icon, or design. Kirocal may remove, replace, resize, or stop displaying a Third-Party Mark at any time to comply with a rights owner’s request, platform policy, license, brand guideline, or law.

If the App lets you add a custom name, logo, image, or icon, you represent that you own it or have permission to use it. You must not upload content that infringes intellectual-property, publicity, privacy, or other rights or that falsely implies endorsement. Do not extract, copy, redistribute, or use any Third-Party Mark from Kirocal except as independently authorized by its owner.

A rights owner or authorized representative may report a concern to [email protected] with identification of the mark or work, the location in Kirocal, contact information, and evidence of authority. HungBok may investigate and take appropriate corrective action without admitting liability.

15. Availability, Updates, and Changes

We may update, improve, suspend, limit, or discontinue all or part of the App at any time. We do not guarantee that every feature will be available at all times or on every device, in every region, or with every App version.

You may need to install App or operating-system updates to keep using certain features. We may provide updates to address security, performance, compatibility, legal, or operational requirements.

16. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available.” HungBok does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Without limiting the above, HungBok does not guarantee entered data, receipt scans, AI output, exchange rates, calculations, imports, exports, backups, synchronization, notifications, advertisements, analytics, third-party templates, brand assets, or third-party services. Service names and icons may be outdated, unavailable, or changed by their owners. Exchange rates and reminders may be delayed and are informational only. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights, remedies, warranties, or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HungBok will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, savings, business opportunity, or financial loss arising from or related to the App or these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HungBok’s aggregate liability arising from or related to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for Kirocal through the applicable app store in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.

18. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. You may stop at any time by deleting it, but you must separately manage or cancel any active subscription through your Apple Account or Google Play account. Before deletion, export anything you need and address cloud, platform secure-storage, advertising, and analytics choices you wish to change.

We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the App if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the App, or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and applicable-law provisions.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms when the App, its services, advertising or analytics partners, Apple’s or Google Play’s requirements, applicable law, or operational needs change. We will post the revision with a new date and, when reasonably practicable, provide notice of a material change. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law; if consent is required, we will request it separately.

20. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the law applicable to the relationship between you and HungBok, without applying rules that would select another jurisdiction’s law. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory consumer protections or a mandatory forum available in your country or region. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

21. General Terms

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Apple Standard EULA or Google Play terms where applicable, and terms presented in the applicable purchase flow form the agreement governing the App. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms except where law permits; HungBok may assign them in connection with a transfer of the App or business, subject to applicable law and continued protection of your rights.
